Prof. Nicholas Odongo is an animal scientist with over 30 years of experience in animal agriculture farming systems R&D. He was raised on a smallholder, mixed crop-livestock farm in Kitale, which ignited his passion to study agriculture at the bachelors’ level at University of Nairobi.
He completed his MSc degree in Animal Nutrition from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, United Kingdom and his PhD in ruminant nutrition from the University of Guelph in Canada. Prof Odongo is currently the Chair of the Department of Animal Sciences & an Associate Professor of Animal Nutrition at Pwani University.
Prof. Odongo is passionate about football, genders issues and girl-child empowerment. He is well travelled and has lived and worked in Austria, Canada and the United Kingdom. He has been a resident of Kilifi from September 2013 and was a member of the MTG field development committee. He joined the board in 2015.
