YMEP

Without the involvement of men and boys in gender equality and elimination of Gender Based Violence is like a doctor treating symptoms and ignoring the disease”

African cultures are patriarchal in nature thus men and boys remain the custodians of culture which is a key deterrent to women and girls empowerment. Fathers are also distanced from child Upbringing until the children reach puberty stages.

Men and boys adhere to more rigid views about gender roles and masculinity and hence they turn out to be the primary perpetrators of violence against girls and women.

Our Young Men as Equal Partners (YMEP) programme is aimed at increasing gender transformative men and boys who are agents of social change and champions for the rights of girls and young women.
